Price’s Mill Surgery is a training practice. This means we are involved with the supervision of doctors in training, what used to be call junior doctors. These doctors are fully qualified, have completed medical school and have worked in a hospital, sometimes for many years.
We have doctors at various levels. Some will be with us for 4 months and they are called foundation year 2 doctors. They will have spent some time in hospital but will now be here to learn about general practice. We also have doctors who are training to become GPs. They will have spent at least 2 years in various hospital placements and will be here for 6 to 12 months or more. Again they are here to learn about general practice in preparation for becoming GPs.
All these doctors will be supervised at different levels by one of the partners at the practice. The lead clinicians for education are Dr Herbert, Dr Morris and Dr Sampson.
