Non-NHS work

GPs are contracted to provide medical services to NHS patients. Increasingly, GPs are asked to undertake non-NHS work such as completing reports, providing letters and examinations for insurance companies and other organisations. The practice has regretfully had to revise its approach to provision of non-NHS services. Whilst we will endeavour to assist our patients in providing medical reports, we can no longer guarantee this service and reserve the right to decline provision of non-NHS services. If this is the case, patients will be informed of the decision within 10 working days of the application.

The services currently on offer are detailed on the practice website. We charge a fee to cover both the administrative and GP time and costs involved. This work is not covered by our NHS contract and your GP undertakes it in addition to their NHS consulting. All our fees are within British Medical Association guidelines.

There is a standard 30 day period for completing these requests and this begins from payment of our invoice. Requests for completion in a shorter period of time can sometimes be accommodated but this is not guaranteed. There is an additional fee payable for expediting requests.
